Fixgent Privacy Notice

Effective date: 19 October 2026

Fixgent operates a home-services marketplace and professional registration service. This notice explains how Fixgent collects, uses, stores and shares personal information through fixgent.com, fixgent.ng, fixgent.ca and the Fixgent apps. It covers visitors, customers, artisans and Taskers, including Canadian waitlist members and professionals preparing their profiles. Canadian customer bookings are not open yet.

For privacy questions and requests, contact the Fixgent team at support@fixgent.com or use our contact page.

Google sign-in: information we access

Google sign-in is optional. If you choose it, Google supplies Fixgent, through our authentication provider Supabase, with your Google account identifier, email address and verification status, and basic profile information such as your name and profile picture when supplied. Google also provides the authentication information needed to confirm the sign-in and establish your Fixgent session.

We use this information to create or identify your Fixgent account, authenticate you, help prevent account misuse, and populate basic account details. We use your account email for account and service communications. Fixgent does not receive your Google password. Our Google sign-in requests basic identity permissions, not access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Calendar or Google contacts.

Google identity and authentication records are stored in Supabase Auth and related Fixgent account records. They are processed by Supabase to provide sign-in and by our hosting infrastructure to serve your account. Email providers process your email address when sending account or service messages. Authorized Fixgent staff may access account information when needed for support, security or operations, subject to their assigned access.

We do not sell Google sign-in information or use it for targeted advertising. We do not use Google sign-in profile information to train general-purpose AI models or automatically include it in help-assistant prompts. Information you separately type into the help assistant is handled as described below. If you add information to a public professional profile, the published profile fields are visible to visitors as described below.

You can remove Fixgent's Google connection in your Google account connections. This stops future access through that connection; it does not automatically delete your Fixgent account or records already held. To request their deletion, contact support@fixgent.com. Retention and exceptions are explained below.

Other information we collect

  • Account and contact information: the name, email, phone number, role and preferences you provide, together with authentication and verification status. Available sign-in methods can differ by country.
  • Professional profiles: your photo, biography, services, prices, availability, work examples, qualifications and service area. Public profile details and reviews can be seen by visitors. Your private base address or pin is used for matching rather than displayed as your public address.
  • Bookings and communication: job descriptions, service addresses and pins, requested dates, photos, quotes, booking status, messages, reviews, complaints and support correspondence. Only provide information and photos you have permission to share.
  • Waitlists and country requests: your chosen country or province, services of interest and contact details you choose to provide. Where the form asks for permission to send a launch update, we use that choice for the update.
  • Identity checks: if a check is required, Didit collects identity documents, selfies and any face or liveness information required by its verification flow. Fixgent receives verification identifiers, status and results needed to manage the check, including available failure information. Didit's collection and retention of documents and biometric information are governed by its own notice shown during verification. Do not send identity documents through ordinary chat or email.
  • Payments and payouts: our payment provider processes payment details. Fixgent holds transaction references, amounts, currencies, payment and refund status, and payout account labels or limited account details needed to administer payouts. Enter payment details only in the designated payment flow.
  • Device and usage information: IP addresses, browser or app information, request and error logs, security events, country and theme preferences, and session information. If you enable app notifications, we use a device push token. Location is used when you provide a pin or choose an available device-location feature, subject to device permission.

Why we use information

We use personal information to run accounts and professional profiles; match jobs with suitable professionals; arrange and manage bookings, payments and payouts; deliver requested notifications; answer questions and resolve disputes; protect users and investigate fraud; maintain and troubleshoot the service; and meet applicable recordkeeping and legal obligations. We use consent where a feature or applicable law requires it, including optional notifications and separately requested launch updates. You can withdraw optional choices through the available controls or by contacting us.

Who receives information

Customers and their selected professionals receive the booking and contact information needed to arrange and carry out a job. Professional profiles and published reviews are public. Support and operations staff receive information needed to help you, with access limited by their assigned roles.

We use service providers to operate Fixgent. These include Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; Vercel for website hosting; Brevo and Resend for service email; Google Maps for address and map features; Didit for identity verification; Paystack for Nigerian payment and payout processing; and Expo for app push delivery where enabled. Each provider receives information relevant to the feature it supplies. Payment and identity providers may also use information to meet their own fraud-prevention and legal obligations under their notices.

We may disclose relevant information when required by law or a valid legal process, to investigate fraud or security incidents, or to protect users and enforce our service terms. We do not sell personal information.

The help assistant

The automated help assistant uses Google's Gemini API. When you use it, your conversation text is sent to Google to generate a reply. For signed-in users, a limited summary of recent bookings can also be sent, including job references, service names, statuses, dates and amounts. That automatic summary excludes names, phone numbers and street addresses, but text you type can contain personal information.

Do not put passwords, one-time codes, identity documents, payment-card details or other sensitive information in the assistant. Use our contact page for support that needs a person. Google's handling of assistant inputs and outputs depends on the Gemini service terms, including provisions for service improvement and human review for unpaid services. See the Gemini API terms and Google Privacy Policy. Do not treat the assistant as a confidential channel for sensitive records.

Cookies, storage and security

We use cookies and similar local storage for sign-in sessions, security and preferences such as country and appearance. Disabling essential storage can prevent sign-in or other features from working. You can manage browser storage through your browser settings and notification or location permissions through your device settings.

We use HTTPS, authentication, database access controls and restricted staff permissions to protect information. No online system can guarantee complete security. Protect your account and contact us if you suspect unauthorized access.

Storage and international processing

Information is stored and processed through our service providers and may be handled outside your country, including outside Nigeria or Canada. Laws and government-access rules in those locations may differ from those where you live. We use provider contracts and access controls to manage processing, and consider applicable requirements when responding to privacy requests.

How long we keep information

We keep account and profile information while it is needed to provide your account and services. Booking, payment, dispute and security records may need to be retained after an account closes for accounting, legal obligations, fraud prevention or unresolved claims. Waitlist and optional contact information is kept for the purpose you provided it until it is no longer needed or you withdraw your request, subject to necessary legal or security records.

Retention depends on the type of record, the reason for keeping it and applicable obligations; we do not apply a single period to every category. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Copies in backups and service-provider systems may remain until their retention cycles expire and are subject to the providers' controls. Removing a Google connection does not itself erase existing records.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can edit available account and profile fields in Fixgent. To request access, correction, a copy of your information, withdrawal of an optional consent or deletion of your account and personal information, email support@fixgent.com. Tell us the account email or phone number and what you need; do not send passwords, sign-in codes or identity-document scans. We may ask for an appropriate way to confirm account ownership before acting.

We assess requests under the laws that apply to you, including applicable Nigerian and Canadian privacy requirements. Some information may need to be retained for the reasons above; we will explain relevant limitations when responding. You can also raise a concern with your applicable privacy regulator, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and applicable provincial authorities.

Changes to this notice

We update this page when our practices change and revise the effective date. Where required, we will notify affected users of material changes or seek consent for a new use. For questions about this notice or Fixgent's handling of your information, contact support@fixgent.com.
